Tom Brady celebrates as Celtics wrap up 18th championship win in Game 5 vs Mavericks
While most wondered whether it would genuinely be a series, the Boston Celtics vs Dallas Mavericks showdown in the NBA Finals stretched to Game 5 as the Celtics wrapped up a 106-88 win in TD Garden to take their championships tally to 18. That number makes them the most successful franchise in history with one more title win than the Los Angeles Lakers.
Tom Brady, a man with Boston in his blood, tuned into the NBA Finals to lend his support to his beloved Celtics. As the C's took home a record-setting 18th title on the 16th anniversary of their 17th championship, Brady tweeted:
"Another one in Boston."
Brady paid keen attention to the NBA Finals this year and even lent his voice to a pretty cool hype video for the Celtics prior to Game 2, which Boston won 105-98.
Tom Brady's Boston fervor was on full show at Patriots Hall of Fame induction
Tom Brady was finally inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame on June 12, 2024, in front of a 60,000-strong Gillette Stadium. Brady's old guard including Danny Amendola, Julian Edelman, Drew Bledsoe, Malcolm Butler and Bill Belichick were in attendance alongside, of course, franchise owner Robert Kraft.
It was a star-studded affair to be sure. Jay-Z performed at the ceremony while Bill Burr performed the opening monologue. Brady's old rival Peyton Manning was at hand as well while Patrick Mahomes also made a virtual appearance at the event.
With his Hall of Fame induction in the books, the seven-time Super Bowl champion will now turn his sights to his first job in retirement - the broadcasting gig with FOX.
