Tom Brady claims his only priorities in life are football and his kids as divorce to Gisele Bundchen inches closer

Amidst what might ordinarily be an ugly divorce, Tom Brady remains focused on two things: his children and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Despite the divorce that both he and Gisele Bundchen have agreed to, they remain amicable and want to raise their kids in that.

The legendary quarterback mentioned his situation to Jim Gray on the Let's Go! podcast:

"Yeah, Jim, you know, I think there's a lot of professionals in life that go through things that they deal with that work and they deal with at home. And obviously, the good news is this. It's a very amicable situation."

He added:

"I'm really focused on two things, taking care of my family. And certainly my children, and secondly, doing the best job I can to win football games."

He continued, claiming that his off-the-field issues would not impede his work on the field:

"So that's what professionals do. You focus at work, when it's time to work. And then when you come home, you focus on the priorities that are at home. And all you can do is the best you could do. And that's what I'll just continue to do. As long as I'm working as long as I'm being a dad."

He will try to turn the Buccaneers' season around this week against the Los Angeles Rams, who are also in dire need of a win.

Will Tom Brady's words ring true?

It's a nice sentiment, but no matter what Brady says, this divorce is not going to be easy for him. No matter how amicable or friendly they remain, a divorce is painful. That will impact him, whether he'd like it to or not. Maybe he can try to tune it out on the football field, but that's easier said than done.

Thus far, the Buccaneers have struggled mightily. They're 3-5 and in second place in the division. Something is bothering Brady and the team, and there's an easy culprit to blame: the divorce.

Perhaps now that it's official, he can put it in the rearview mirror. That would be difficult, though. Tom Brady may be machine-like on the field, but he is very much human inside.
