Tom Brady faces NFL restrictions over Raiders ownership stake ahead of $375,000,000 Fox job

Tom Brady has achieved almost everything a player could’ve wanted in his 23-year career in the NFL. However, as TB12 navigates life after retirement, two of his tasks – being a broadcaster and a team owner – have turned out to be opposed to each other.

The NFL held a meeting on Tuesday and the details of it have now been made public. This includes discussions regarding Brady’s potential purchase to become a minority stakeholder in the Las Vegas Raiders.

As per senior NFL writer Rob Maaddi, while that deal is still pending, the league has put restrictions on Brady.

These restrictions are for the upcoming broadcasting job that Tom Brady will be performing with Fox Sports. The seven-time Super Bowl winner’s several rights have been curtailed, that are available to other broadcasters.

“NFL says restrictions on Tom Brady start immediately because his potential transaction to purchase part of the Raiders is pending. He’s not permitted to attend broadcast production meetings (in-person or virtually) and may not have access to team facilities or players and coaching personnel. Fox staff is not subject to these limitations.
“He may broadcast Raiders games. He also has to abide by the league constitution and bylaws that prohibit public criticism of officials and other clubs.”

Brady signed a $375 million broadcasting deal with Fox in 2022 for 10 years. He has been in line to become a minority owner of the Raiders since 2023.

Which games will Tom Brady broadcast this season?
