Tom Brady's former Tampa Bay rental worth $22,500,000 set to be demolished: Report
Tom Brady signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in March 2020. When he made the move from Boston to Tampa, he rented Derek Jeter's waterfront home in Tampa's exclusive Davis Islands neighborhood. Tom Brady purchased his own home before his second season and Jeter decided to put the home on the market since he now lives in Miami.
The seven-bedroom, 16-bathroom home was sold for $22.5 million in 2021, making it one of the most expensive homes ever sold in Tampa. The new owner, who is keeping their identity unknown, filed a permit with the City of Tampa to demolish the home.
The 22,000-square-foot home will now be replaced with a 30,000-square-foot property. Construction on the home will begin in early 2024 and will take three years to finish. The location of the home is well-known by Tampa residents. It has pristine views of downtown Tampa while also being visible to boaters who pass by on the local waterways.
Jeter purchased the two lots the home sits on for $2.3 million in 2005. He then built the 22,000-square-foot home where he spent the MLB offseason. The home is located just a few miles from the New York Yankees Spring Training facility, which happens to be across the street from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' Raymond James Stadium.
How much is Tom Brady's new Miami home worth?
While he was adjusting to his new life in Florida, Tom Brady purchased land in Miami for his family's dream home. The home is located in the secluded Indian Creek Island, known to many as the "Billionaire Bunker." The neighborhood includes just over 30 homes and has its own private security and 18-hole golf course.
Brady originally bought the property with now ex-wife Gisele Bundchen and began renovations. After their amicable divorce in October 2022, Brady retained the property while Bundchen purchased her own nearby.
Brady's home is worth an estimated $17 million and features a plethora of amenities. The home has five bedrooms and five bathrooms and was built using sustainable construction materials. The home has a separate pool/guest house that has a gym.
What is Tom Brady doing now?
The seven-time Super Bowl champion isn't resting on his laurels in retirement. Instead, he's making a number of investments to keep the cash rolling in.
Brady invested in the Las Vegas Aces earlier this year and was officially confirmed as a minority owner in the franchise last month. In addition, he has a similar stake in the Las Vegas Raiders, though he has not been confirmed as a part of the ownership group just yet.
He also has a $375 million deal lined up with FOX to step into the broadcasting booth starting in 2024.
