“Tom Brady, you just made the list!” – When Chris Jericho sent a warning to Buccaneers QB

When Tom Brady initially retired from the NFL last off-season, it left many people surprised and many reacting in different ways.

The news affected all—football fans, non-football fans, and fans of other sports—in different manners, but the general feeling was that of shock.

In the wrestling world, many stars have discussed Brady's retirement. One of them has been Chris Jericho, who put Brady on his list, called 'The List of Jericho,' because of the quarterback's G.O.A.T status.

During one of his appearances on the WWE ring in 2017, Jericho said:

"Everyone is calling him [Tom Brady] the G.O.A.T. Well, you know what happens when you steal Chris Jericho's nickname? Hmm? You know what happens when you call yourself the greatest of all time and you're not me? You know what happens?! Tom Brady, you just made the list!"

'The List of Jericho' was a gimmick that Jericho often used to perform alongside Kevin Owens. As part of the act, Jericho would add to the list the names of anyone who would rub him or Owens the wrong way.

Apart from Jericho, Shawn Michaels compared the news of Brady retiring to his own retirement and talked about how he returned to WrestleMania.

Michaels said:

"I've heard so many people say, 'I'm so tired of seeing Tom Brady in the Super Bowl.' That's made me laugh. Sorry, he's the greatest to ever play the game, and here he is, doing it again. And there's just no comparing that experience. It's a different type of knowledge from being there so many times before.
"Just like I had the luxury of so many different matches at WrestleMania, Brady's been here before. That played into my advantage, and I think we'll see it help Brady in the Super Bowl."

Could this be the off-season Tom Brady retires?

While Brady originally retired last off-season, he decided to change his mind 40 days into retirement.

He returned to the Buccaneers for a 23rd season and made the playoffs before falling to the Dallas Cowboys in the wildcard round.

He signed a 10-year $375 million deal with Fox Sports as a color commentator/broadcaster for whenever he decides to retire. Brady will be 46 by the beginning of next season but could retire. He has stated that he would like to play until he's 50, and he could very well do that.

There have been rumors that the Las Vegas Raiders, the Miami Dolphins, and the San Francisco 49ers are interested in Brady, but we'll see what the quarterback decides to do in the off-season after becoming a free agent.
