Tom Brady leaves Patriots, Eagles out of top 5 in Week 2 power rankings

Tom Brady finally started his broadcasting career with FOX on Sunday, calling the Dallas Cowboys' win over the Cleveland Browns. While there were a few quids with his performance, the legendary former quarterback mostly did a good job, with there being lots to improve over time.

He has also become a big presence on FOX's social media accounts. As Week 2 starts on Thursday, he has released a version of his own power rankings, and two notable teams who won in Week 1 have been left out of his top 5: the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Patriots being left out is understandable - they were not considered one of the best teams in the league, so it will take a few triumphs for people to look at them as a great team. The Eagles, however, have a strong roster and beat a strong opponent in the Green Bay Packers, making his decision a little bit strange.

This is Brady's first season of a 10-year, $375 million deal with FOX to become their lead analyst. He had a sabbatical season in 2023 before walking into the booth.

Which game will Tom Brady call in Week 2?

He will be calling the game between the Dallas Cowboys and the New Orleans Saints, two teams who had dominant wins in Week 1 - the Cowboys beat the Brown in a game where Brady was also calling, while the Saints obliterated the Carolina Panthers.

It's no surprise to see the former quarterback involved in many Dallas games earlier in the season. The Cowboys have the largest fan base in the country, and it's natural that FOX's lead analyst would be sent to their games.

But it doesn't stop there. When the Cowboys play the Baltimore Ravens in Week 3, another game where FOX has broadcasting rights, ESPN's Todd Archer has already reported that the seven-time Super Bowl winner will be in the booth once again. Brady's other assignments are yet to be revealed.

Like it or not, it's a 10-year deal, so NFL fans better get used to his presence. After all, not many people know about football as much as him.
