Tom Brady loses his mind over Puka Nacua's absurd catch, raves about Rams WR's "ridiculous" play
It's tough to impress Tom Brady, who has probably seen it all during his two decades in the NFL. But Los Angeles Rams player Puka Nacua managed to blow his mind during their game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
The ball was snapped to Matthew Stafford during the middle of the second quarter while the Rams were leading 17-14. He then threw the ball towards Puka who leapt up in the air and caught the ball mid-air. His toes were firmly on the ground when he landed with the ball before being pushed out of bounds by Bills cornerback Christian Benford.
The 7x Super Bowl champion, who was commentating on the game for FOX, seemed to lose his mind over Nacua's catch.
"You got to be kidding me! Oh. My. God. Insane!" Tom Brady exclaimed. "It's good. Now they know they got it. Now he can settle back and get into the play that he wants. That was ridiculous."
"How on earth did he catch and stay in bounds?" Kevin Burkhardt also expressed his amazement at the "ridiculous" catch.
That was not all. A little later in the game, with less than three minutes left for halftime, Puka Nacua broke through the ranks of Bills defenders and made it to the endzone for a touchdown, which extended the team's lead by another six points.
Tom Brady caught up with Josh Allen ahead of Rams vs Bills game
The New England Patriots and the Buffalo Bills are divisional rivals as both play in the AFC East. However, that did not stop the retired footballer-turned-color analyst from conversing with the Bills QB, Josh Allen, ahead of the Rams game.
The two shook hands and embraced each other when Allen caught sight of the watch on his hands and enquired about it.
Once the game was underway, Tom Brady also couldn't contain his excitement and uttered an unintelligible scream when the Rams blocked the Bills' punt and instead converted it into a touchdown.
At the end of the third quarter, the Rams were leading 38-21. The Bills, who have won seven straight games, have already clinched a playoff berth, but a loss would be a blow to their chances of securing the No. 1 seed and a first-round bye in the postseason.
