Tom Brady refuses to blame Dak Prescott over INT with Cowboys in danger of blowout loss to Saints

Tom Brady came to defense for Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, whose pass was intercepted in the final minute of the second quarter of Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints. The Dallas Cowboys had a terrible start to the Saints duel, going into halftime down 35-16 against Derek Carr and company.

With 1:02 minutes left in the second quarter, Prescott was intercepted by Paulson Adebo at the Saints' 33rd yard, who returned the ball to the Cowboys' 47th. The next drive finished with a Saints touchdown.

During his second-ever broadcast appearance, the seven-time Super Bowl winner shared his thoughts on that play, refusing to blame Dak Prescott for its outcome as the game entered halftime.

"Just a disastrous situation here for the Cowboys. You got a chance to score ... actually throws a good ball here. Brooks just loses his speed. Just that sticky coverage and he's close enough that when the ball's in the air he just goes and attack it," Brady said on broadcast.
"Dak, you never wanna see your receiver slip a situation like that. That's a lot of trust that you're trying to develop with some of the younger receivers. Not the time, not the place. They had a chance to score, now you're sitting here with a big time turnover."

He added:

"Ball's actually in a good place for him to catch it. You make that throw, you're trusting him to come up with it. He's on the ground. Frustrating for Dallas today."

Dak Prescott has often been blamed for those turnovers, but this time, Brady doesn't think he's at fault. They could've cut the lead to 28-20 with the TD and the extra point and instead saw their opponents extend their lead.

Cowboys fans called out referees over missed call on Saints defender

In addition to Brooks and Prescott's miscommunication, Dallas fans saw the referees missing a call against Saints linebacker Demario Davis when he grabbed Cowboys running back Rico Dowdle.

Fans in attendance saw the replay and made a lot of noise to criticize it, while those watching at home took to social media to share their disagreement with the call (or lack thereof).

After a solid debut against the Cleveland Browns, Mike McCarthy's team is on the verge of losing against the Saints, who are confirming that last week's blowout against the Panthers wasn't a fluke.
