Tom Brady to retire in 2023? Bucs QB claims he's thinking hard before announcing decision

Tom Brady engineered another incredible comeback on Sunday night as he helped the Tampa Bay Buccaneers rally from a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit to beat the Arizona Cardinals 19-16 in overtime. The win over Arizona on Christmas Day saw the Buccaneers keep their hopes of winning the NFC South division title alive.

Brady and the Buccaneers are only one win away from adding another division title to their list of achievements, but the quarterback's unretirement hasn't gone to plan. The Buccaneers have limped to a 7-8 record and have had a rough first season under head coach Todd Bowles.

Brady will enter free agency in 2023 and rumors have swirled about his future, with reports suggesting that he could join the San Francisco 49ers, return to the New England Patriots, or even retire. On the latest episode of the Let's Go podcast, Brady addressed the retirement rumors and said:

"I think next time I decide to retire, that's it for me. So, whenever that day comes, we'll figure it out."

He explained:

"I think what I really realized last year was you got to be really sure to do that. And for me, it's a lot of people have kind of gone through a situation. How you feel when the season ends versus two or three years later or so. So, I'm going to take my time. Whenever that time does come."

Tom Brady focused on helping the Buccaneers win the NFC South

Tom Brady and the Buccaneers will face the Carolina Panthers on Sunday in a shootout for the division title. The quarterback said he's focused on the rest of the season and isn't too worried about the future:

"I have a hugely important job that teams asked me to do and I want to go out there and I want to play my best these last two weeks of the regular season."

Whether Tom Brady walks away from the sport for the second time is still unclear, but he is convinced that the next time he retires, he won't be making any dramatic u-turns.
