“We haven’t seen psycho Tom Brady” – Skip Bayless claims current version of Buccaneers QB just isn’t enough

Tom Brady has gone through many phases of his NFL career but is now entering an unfamiliar one in his 23rd season. During his eponymous 'The Skip Bayless Show,' Bayless discussed a side of the quarterback that we seem to have lost this season. Here's what he said:

"His domination comes in preparation. I've always called him Psycho Tom, a crazy competitor in his alter ego. It's reared its ugly head since, I don't know, his third or fourth year in New England. I love that side of Tom Brady. That's the side that has rocked. It fueled 10 Super Bowl appearances and seven rings. By the way, two Super Bowls that Brady's defense cost him."

Bayless added:

"We haven't seen Psycho Tom, but we've seen this new Tom. We've seen frustrated. Drained. Distracted. Tom Brady. I believe all that is about to change now that the divorce is shockingly final."

Bayless contends that injuries to wide receivers Julio Jones and Chris Godwin are to blame. As well as the absence of tight end Rob Gronkowski:

"Now the Bucs defense is decimated with injuries. The wide receiver corps has been decimated and riddled all season. Tom personally recruited Julio Jones to be his new deep threat. Julio had one flash at Dallas in that opener, that one 48-yard bomb that he caught. And he's been hurt ever since. There is no Gronk. There's obviously no more AB. There's no Gio Bernard, who's on IR. Chris Godwin still hasn't regained his burst after ACL reconstruction."

Bayless obviously believes that Tom Brady has lost some of his fire due to issues on and off the field. He hinted that the old Brady may return in the near future, once he has resolved his off-the-field concerns.

Will we see a shift in the personality of Tom Brady following his divorce?

Tom Brady - Super Bowl LV

Brady's personal life might've seeped into his football, before his divorce from Gisele Bundchen was announced. So far, he and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are currently below .500 with a 3 - 5 record this season. The three-time NFL MVP is currently leading the 2022 season in both passing completions and attempts.

However, they're desperately looking to improve their form, as the Buccaneers are riding a three-game losing streak. Week Nine is a rematch of last season's NFC Divisional Round between the Buccaneers and Los Angeles Rams.

The 15-time Pro Bowler will be looking to avenge that 30 - 27 loss. He threw for 329 yards in that crazy game. The Rams might see the three-time All-Pro at his most lethal, as his personal woes are in the process of being put behind him. Perhaps Bayless will get to see his old friend Psycho Tom.
