Tom Brady's WNBA investment sees dizzying 6,900% appreciation as Las Vegas Aces' valuation touches $140,000,000

After a legendary NFL career, Tom Brady is now excelling in his business endeavors. He became a minority owner of the WNBA's Las Vegas Aces last year, and the franchise, which Mark Davis bought for just $2 million in 2021, is now worth $140 million.

The Aces have won the last two WNBA championships and are well-positioned for a three-peat. Brady is a minority owner, so his stake in the franchise is well below 51%, but he has still profited well from an undisclosed investment he made in March 2023.

Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis made a huge investment in the Aces' practice facility after purchasing the franchise in 2021, and he is reaping the rewards for it. Not only do they have the best facilities in the WNBA, but they are in a position to win every year, which will continue to increase the franchise's value.

A'ja Wilson and Kelsey Plum are two of the WNBA's biggest stars. They are coached by Becky Hammon, and the number of stars on the team will continue to bring success to the city of Las Vegas.

According to Sportico, the Aces brought in close to $18 million in revenue last year. It goes on to show that the ownership group's initial investment in the franchise is continuously yielding a substantial return.

The Aces' ownership group consists of:

  1. Mark Davis
  2. Carol Davis
  3. Tom Brady

The Las Vegas Aces are not the only investment that Tom Brady has made in the sports world following his retirement from the NFL. He is also a part-owner of Birmingham FC, a football club that plays in the third division of English soccer.

As per reports, Brady doesn't own a big stake in Birmingham FC and doesn't have a vote on the team's decisions. Many believe that the seven-time Super Bowl champion was brought in by the ownership group to be a "paid pitchman."

However, that hasn't stopped Brady from actively supporting the team. He has often been to their games and regularly posts updates about the club on his social media accounts.

In May 2023, Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis reached an agreement with Tom Brady to join the franchise's ownership group. However, Brady is not yet an official owner of the Raiders, as a vote by the other NFL owner has yet to be passed.

The league is still figuring out the necessary financial details around Brady's stake in the Raiders, and the process has now gone well over a year. He must now wait until at least October to receive official recognition as the AFC West franchise's owner.

According to Forbes, the Raiders had a market value of $6.2 billion based on last year's calculations. The number is going to rise in the coming years, as the NFL is performing well from a business perspective. Becoming a part of the Raiders' ownership group further strengthens Tom Brady's business portfolio.

Here is the full list of sports teams/franchise that Brady has a stake in:

  1. Las Vegas Aces, WNBA
  2. Las Vegas Raiders, NFL
  3. Birmingham FC, League 1, England
  4. Las Vegas Night Owls, Major League Pickleball
  5. Team Brady, E1 World Championship

Tom Brady's net worth is estimated to be $300 million. He signed a 10-year $375 million deal with Fox Sports after retiring from the NFL, and he'll be seen in the broadcast booth this season.
