Tom Brady shares piece of advice for Eagles, Chiefs players ahead of Super Bowl LVII
Tom Brady knows better than anyone else what it feels like to play in a Super Bowl as he has played in ten Super Bowls during his career and won seven.
So, when he gives advice to NFL players who are experiencing their first Super Bowl, it's safe to assume that he has experienced all of the emotions that come with playing in the big game.
In this week's episode of the "Let's Go" podcast, Brady told his co-host Jim Gray what the Super Bowl experience feels like. He said that it's the greatest moment that an athlete can experience in the world of sports.
He mentioned the feeling of running onto the field before the game during warmups and then when the team is announced and the players run out onto the field, he conitnued:
"It's the greatest sporting moment you're ever gonna have. You run out for pregame warm up and it's electric. You run out there to, you know, when your team's announced, there's a feeling and emotion that you're never going to experience anywhere else in life."
He added:
"And then just before that ball is kicked off, you're going to experience something that you're never going to experience again. If you're lucky, you'll get it twice. If you're really lucky, three times, you know."
Brady said the Super Bowl is a one-of-a-kind experience that only a few players have been lucky enough to experience more than once. And, yet every time is still just as electric.
Tom Brady went on to say that players from the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles will make memories during the Super Bowl week that they will never forget.
Brady said that while those experiences and memories are one of a kind, the outcome of the big game will determine how the players remember the Super Bowl. He said:
"It's just it's incredible and all those moments are ingrained in who you are and you're being. We're all made up of all these incredible memories that we've had. And this is a memory that none of these guys will ever forget. So I always think enjoy it, but understand the enjoyment from it will really come from winning."
He continued:
"In the end. If you're a player in this game. You will remember this week for whether you won or you lost. Not for whether you attended something or the cars. So make sure you don't lose track of priority one, which is, to be ready to perform at your best when that ball is kicked off."
He said that the players on the losing team will unfortunately remember the week only for the loss. So, the key is to not forget that the main goal is to win the Super Bowl and that once kickoff happens, nothing else matters besides winning.
Tom Brady said that players could be called for holding on every play
On this week's "Let's Go" podcast, Tom Brady and Jim Gray spoke about the possible missed holding call in the AFC Championship game. Many are saying that there was a missed call against the Chiefs towards the end of the game.
Brady said that while it is against the rules for offensive linemen to hold defensive players, he said that it happens in every play.
"Are you allowed to hold? No, you're not; it's against the rules. Is there holding by the offensive line and defensive line on every play? Yes."
His response to the holding call is similar to those of NFL fans who believe that referees miss calls on nearly every play. Whether it's holding, pass interference or even roughing the passer, the officiating crew is constantly put into question.
