Tom Brady spotted at local food shelter with kids days after multi-million-dollar divorce from Gisele Bundchen

Tom Brady's decision to unretire and return to the NFL has backfired in the most spectacular fashion. Finally calling it quits on his football career, the quarterback walked away from the limelight to spend more time with his family.

His retirement, though, was short-lived and was touted by many as the reason for his divorce from former supermodel Gisele Bundchen. Since the couple officially separated, Brady made his first public appearance on Saturday. He was spotted at a local food shelter with his two kids Benjamin (12) and Vivian (9).

An anonymous source told People.com that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers star wanted to take the opportunity to teach his children a lesson in humility and giving back to the community:

"Tom wanted to teach his kids about the importance of community service."

Tom Brady and his kids volunteered at a foodbank organized by Operation BBQ Relief. They helped serve food and deliver meals to storm-hit residents of Englewood and North Port, Florida. The couple will now share joint custody of their two kids going forward. Brady was also spotted taking Benjamin and Vivian to the movies just hours after reports of their divorce were made public.

Tom Brady opens up on life after divorce from Gisele Bundchen: "I’m really focused on two things"

Tom Brady has been relatively quiet about the situation brewing back home. But during his weekly podcast appearance on the Let's Go! podcast, the quarterback opened up about how he has been processing his divorce:

"There’s a lot of professionals in life that go through things that they deal with at work and they deal with at home. And obviously, the good news is it’s a very amicable situation and I’m really focused on two things: taking care of my family and certainly my children and secondly doing the best job I can to win football games."

Only recently unretiring, it's uncertain what the quarterback's future in the NFL will look like. But the quarterback maintained that he will continue to give it his all when it comes to football and his family:

"So, that’s what professionals do. You focus at work when it’s time to work and then when you come home you focus on the priorities that are at home. All you can do is the best you can do. That’s what I’ll continue to do as long as I’m working and as long as I’m being a dad."

The Buccaneers haven't had it easy this season. Starting off with a 3-5 record, the team now finds themselves in a tricky situation. But even with all the odds stacked against him, football fans have learnt time and again that Tom Brady can never be counted out.
