The David Beckham-owned team has reaped the benefits of having a world-class player, something Brady would like to see for his own team. The former QB is a minority owner in Birmingham City, an English soccer team.
After the match, Beckham put out a post on his personal Instagram profile. He wrote that it was an honor to have the greatest football player ever (Brady) in attendance to watch Messi and his teammates put together another victory.
Brady added the post to his own Instagram story and said that he was going to try and take Messi away from Inter Miami and bring him to Birmingham City. Beckham also didn't stop at the post, adding a picture with a custom Inter Miami jersey to his story.
Messi shocked the world by joining the MLS and has successfully madeover Inter Miami in the process. His next stop - which could be retirement - is unclear, but the legendary New England Patriots star would like to see him in England soon.
Tom Brady's role with Birmingham City explored
Tom Brady joined Birmingham City as a minority owner, but he's also serving as a chairman on the Advisory Board. Brady has slowly expanded into other sports business ventures since retiring.
The team's statement describes his role in these words (via NBC Sports):
"As Chairman of the Advisory Board, Brady will apply his extensive leadership experience and expertise across several components of the Club, including working alongside the sports science department to advise on health, nutrition, wellness, and recovery systems and programs. In addition, Brady will work closely with the Board and the management team on global marketing efforts and the identification of new commercial partnership opportunities for the Club.”
Brady has long had his hands in the sports health, nutrition and wellness fields, and he will bring that expertise to Birmingham City as well as other aspects of the business. The legendary former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers star knows a lot about excelling on the biggest stage. That experience can be very valuable for any sports team.
