“He can fix anything” – Tom Brady will resurrect Super Bowl-or-bust Buccaneers’ season, Ryan Clark claims
Can Tom Brady bring the Tampa Bay Buccaneers out of their slump? Former NFL safety Ryan Clark believes it could happen.
The Bucs have lost three straight and are facing a matchup against the Los Angeles Rams this Sunday afternoon at home, at the Raymond James Stadium.
Clark said on ESPN's Wake Up on Friday morning that in NFL fans' eyes, Brady can fix anything. He has won so much throughout his career that everyone believes he will bounce back, even if this is one of the worst stretches of his career.
He also said that the Bucs' defense has shown earlier this year that they can be just as good as they were in 2020 when they won the Super Bowl.
"What Tom Brady has built up so much emotional revenue for all of us. We believe that he could fix anything that any situation he's in, he can be a part of the solution. So I think that's number one. We've also seen this Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense be really good this year. We thought through the first two or three weeks of the season that they would be as dominant as they were on their playoff run."
Ryan Clark added that the other key to the Buccaneers turning a corner is wide receiver Mike Evans. He has been one of the most reliable assets on the offense and he and Tom Brady's chemistry is what could help provide a spark.
"And also, Mike Evans and Tom Brady have done amazing things together throughout the two years of two-and-a-half years. Tom Brady is there, so it's no reason to not think that things can get fixed."
Clark concluded that this week's game against the Rams is a must-win for the Bucs. He said that if they use last year's playoff loss to the Rams at home as motivation, they will be able to pull it off. Tampa Bay can then, perhaps, make this a turning point in the season moving forward.
"The problem is they haven't done it to this point. And so at this point, this hasn't looked like any team that's assembled, a Tom Brady team throughout the last 23 years, much less the last two years of Tampa Bay.
"This is a huge week against the Los Angeles Rams. I think the Los Angeles Rams beating them last year and winning the Super Bowl will help this team be focussed and thinking about how to get better this week and get this one win. And I think that this Tampa Bay Buccaneers team will win the NFC South."
Although the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 3-5, they are just one game out of the lead for the NFC South division. The Atlanta Falcons are currently leading the division with just a 4-4 record.
Tom Brady looks to hit career milestone this week vs. the Rams
In the 23rd NFL season of his career, Tom Brady has broken countless records and reached career milestones of epic proportions. At 45-years-old, the quarterback is nearing yet another impressive milestone.
He is just 164 yards from the 100,000-yard mark. While he already leads the category, hitting 100,000 is a story all in itself. It's a milestone that nobody has ever reached in NFL history.
Former New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees is second on the list for passing yards at 85,724 and Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning is third on the list at 79,279 yards.
With the quarterback clearly ahead by a large margin and the next two on the list already retired, it's fair to say that this milestone is far from being broken anytime soon.
