Transformers star Anthony Ramos takes stand for Taylor Swift's positive influence on NFL despite massive trolling

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's relationship has been a major growth factor for the NFL and the Kansas City Chiefs. In fact, according to a report from Sportico, Swift helped the league earn about $4 Million a night last season. However, despite her positive impact on the NFL, the singer has been continuously criticized by fans for her in-game coverage.

Even though some fans are unhappy about her presence in the games, many are crediting Swift for her contribution. This includes celebrities such as Chiefs owner Clark Hunt, Patrick Mahomes and most recently Anthony Ramos. In an interview with PEOPLE, Transformers star Anthony Ramos highlighted Swift's positive impact on the league.

"Yo, she's been amazing for football," Ramos said. "Ever since they started dating, didn't the ratings go up — as far as the games that they're playing — significantly? Well, not significantly, but they went up as people were watching the game just to see that cut to Taylor at the game."

Anthony Ramos' statement came during a Jets vs Patriots watch party organized by The Athletic on Thursday. NFL insider Dianna Russini, who was also present alongside the actor, agreed with his statement. Adding to Ramos' take, Russini said:

"You know, you're getting a different demographic, too, right? You're getting Taylor Swift fans, which are traditionally young girls who are now saying, I want to watch the football [game] because I get to see Taylor up in the suite supporting her boyfriend."

Chiefs owner Clark Hunt credits Taylor Swift's positive influence for the team's fan base growth

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's romance has brought a new fanbase into the league, especially, to the Kansas City Chiefs. Team owner Clark Hunt also credited Swift for her contribution to the Chiefs' fan base growth by around 30%.

"The impact Taylor Swift has had on our fan base is undeniable. We’ve seen a 30% increase in our fan base, and it’s clear that her presence and influence are a big part of that. Her fans are incredibly loyal, and they’ve brought that energy to supporting the Chiefs,” Hunt said via Bloomberg.

When it comes to criticism from fans, Swift has been labeled as a distraction for Chiefs. However, Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes recently took a stand for Swift against these claims.
