"Trav wouldn't be able to play defense" - Chiefs DC Steve Spagnuolo throws shade at Travis Kelce's low GPA while debating football IQ

Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce recently found himself on the bad end of a friendly fire shot from his own team's defensive coordinator, Steve Spagnuolo. Spagnuolo was the guest on Wednesday's edition of the "New Heights" podcast with Travis and his brother, Jason Kelce.

The DC was praising the Chiefs' ever-evolving elite-level defense. He gave all the credit to his players, saying that the current squad has the highest percentage of cerebral athletes in the lineup.

When questioned about how much a player should know when learning about all the different fronts and alignments, Spagnuolo said that his squad only needs to know about football, and he doesn't ask for GPA. In a friendly jab, the coach took a shot at Travis Kelce, saying that the TE wouldn't be playing if they were asking about anything but football:

"You don't have to be a 4.0 student in college. Man, I don't ask about GPAs, right? Trav wouldn't be able to play defense if we were asking about GPA." [From 12:13 to 12:33]

Shaq has some wild advice for Chiefs' TE Travis Kelce

NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal was a guest on June 4's edition of the "New Heights" podcast. During the conversation, the Chiefs' TE asked O'Neal to teach him some DJ-ing skills.

The basketball legend said that he'd love to do that and praised Kelce for being the ultimate hype man. The Former Lakers star then addressed Travis' cameo in Taylor Swift's Eras Tour. O'Neal advised the NFL star to open for his girlfriend, Swift:

"Bro, I got you," O'Neal said. "You know what's crazy? You opening up for your girlfriend? Bro you'd be a f**king star. Twenty minutes. 10 minutes. Hyping up the crowd? Oh my god."
