Travis Kelce attributes parents for high praise from Browns' David Njoku
Travis Kelce spent the weekend participating in David Njoku's Celebrity Softball Game and ended up winning the home run derby. After the celebrity event, David Njoku shared his warm words for Travis Kelce, praising him for his friendly nature.
"He is one of the purest human beings I have ever met in my life. Always means well. Just a great overall dude," David Njoku said to reporters after the event.
On Tuesday, Travis Kelce spoke to the media at the Chiefs minicamp, during which he responded to David Njoku's praises. Chiefs tight end credited his parents, Donna Kelce and Ed Kelce, for the way he is. Talking about the same to the reporters, Travis Kelce said:
"I appreciate him saying those kind words but, you know, I like to say my father would slap me silly if I was any other way. Sometimes you just gotta straighten up and do the right things. And I think over the course of my life, I've found that being kind and being genuine and being who I am and true to that, it's the right way to live." (3:57)
"My mom and my dad are the reason I'm always a friendly guy," Travis concluded.
The warm words by David Njoku came just a few days after Jason Kelce expressed something similar about brother Travis Kelce. On Andrew Santino's podcast, Jason Kelce expressed how Travis Kelce hasn't changed a bit over the years.
Jason Kelce highlights Travis Kelce's ability to remain unchanged despite ongrowing success
Jason Kelce made a star appearance on comedian Andrew Santino's podcast on Friday. During his time here, the former Eagles center talked about his brother's trait of remaining unchanged over the years despite receiving massive success and fame. Talking about the same, Jason said:
"I haven't seen him change one bit. I think it's a compliment. He's stayed true to himself; he's still humble. He treats everyone with the upmost respect like they're equals, regardless of who they are." (42:35)
Ever since Travis Kelce started dating Taylor Swift, his popularity has grown massively. Despite all the fame and success, Jason claims that Travis hasn't changed much.
"I ask Travis' opinion on a lot of things because Travis, and I really mean this, has some of the best instincts, just in general of anybody I've ever talked to," Jason said. (44:12)
This is also the reason why Jason often consults the tight end on major decisions.
After winning the home run derby at David Njoku's Celebrity Softball Game, Travis Kelce shared his plans for the presidential elections. The Chiefs' tight end revealed the first thing that he'd do after becoming President of the United States, and Kelce's reply is nothing but hilarious.
