Travis Kelce feels Patrick Mahomes 'doesn't get enough credit' despite two Super Bowl rings
Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes are one of the most popular duos in the NFL. Not only are the two friends off the field, they have now won two Super Bowls together. From golf to beer to celebrating their win, Kelce and Mahomes are often seen relaxing together.
While on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," Travis Kelce delved into their friendship and how it has shaped up over the years. The Kansas City Chiefs TE also praised Mahomes' leadership.
"He doesn't get enough credit for the type of leader that he is, the type of just personable guy he is in the locker room," Kelce said.
"And it's on and off the field. He does unbelievable things in the community in Kansas City. And that's the kind of, you know, vibe that I like to be around, man. And it was just kind of like magnets when he got to KC."
Travis also spoke of their bond, which developed naturally and without much meddling:
"I think it just happened organically. It was just like, 'Hey, man, what are you doing? You're about to go to Vegas and play golf? Alright let's do it'. And it's been awesome since he's been in Kansas City."
Travis Kelce made sure to call out haters at the Chiefs' parade
Kelce made sure to mention everyone who undermined the Chiefs before and during the 2022 season. Many believed Kansas City to be in a rebuilding year and to struggle within their division. As the season progressed, most experts ended up choosing the Philadelphia Eagles over the Mahomes-led Chiefs.
"Let me take you back to 2022, maybe in the month of April," Kelce said. "Guys were getting signed left and right. The haters were saying that the Chiefs would never make the playoffs. The haters were saying the Chiefs were done."
Mahomes also addressed the issue, targeting all the rebuilding comments. As per the star QB, he doesn't know what rebuilding is supposed to mean. In the end, the Chiefs were champions the year they were supposed to rebuild.
This was both Kelce and Mahomes' second Super Bowl title and the pair seem to be going from strength to strength.
