Travis Kelce hopes girlfriend Taylor Swift can "walk away with some moon men" at the VMAs

Travis Kelce has enjoyed lifting awards and trophies over the last few years. Now the tight end wants his pop icon girlfriend, Taylor Swift, to do the same at the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards. Kelce even coined a term for the awards that Swift is expected to win.

On Wednesday, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, along with his brother, Jason Kelce, on their podcast "New Heights," couldn’t stop themselves from discussing the VMAs. The ceremony will be held late on Wednesday night at Long Island's UBS Arena.

“Hopefully Taylor can walk away with a few, she’s nominated for about 10 of those things tonight,” Kelce said. “Hopefully she can walk away with some moon men. Those are always one of the cooler trophies. The space guys. It’s the big silver moon guy with the American flag I think.”

The brothers further discussed the design of the trophy. Jason Kelce burst the bubble of Travis Kelce by reminding him that the flag is not the USA flag but the MTV flag. However, Travis Kelce wished the rest of the nominees as well, unless they’re against Taylor Swift, added Jason.

Travis Kelce would be hoping for a historic night for Taylor Swift

The upcoming MTV VMAs could solidify Taylor Swift as a generational talent once and for all. She has amassed 23 "moon men" trophies at the VMAs in her career. She is nominated in 12 categories.

Beyonce currently leads the pack with 25 wins to her name. If Swift ends up winning three more VMAs on Wednesday, she will break the record for most wins at the MTV VMAs for a solo artist.

Taylor Swift could also use this opportunity to make big announcements regarding Travis Kelce. However, many expect her to use the platform to extend her support to Vice President Kamala Harris against Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential elections. Swift has already endorsed Harris through her Instagram.
