“Ring around the Toney” – Travis Kelce reveals exactly what went down during Chiefs huddle before viral Week 18 play

The Kansas City Chiefs are one of the most talented and creative teams in the NFL.

Andy Reid and the offense displayed their creative mastermind ways in their Week 18 victory vs. the Las Vegas Raiders.

Before the first half ended, they ran a trick play where they came out of the huddle running in a circle like a "Ring-around-the-Rosie" motion.

The play ended up being Patrick Mahomes throwing a RB-toss screen play across the field to Kadarius Toney, who caught the screen, broke a tackle, and scored. The play didn't count as the Chiefs were called for a hold.

So this just happened? 😂

On their daily podcast, New Heights, the Kelce brothers, hosted by Travis and Jason, talked about the play that the Chiefs ran. Jason asked a few questions about the play, and Travis responded by dubbing it, "Ring around the Toney."

Kelce said:

"You know that moment when you get on a roller coaster and you're like going up the roller coaster real slow? When I put my arms around the guys and we started going in circles, I was just like, wooooo, we're doing it! We all were like, oh wow, we're really going to run this, this is what we're doing, that's why I'm like it felt oh my gosh, this is happening."
"When the joka caught it and I saw him break through one of the tackles it was like, yes, it's working! Ring around the Toney!"
"WOO WE'RE DOING IT" 😂😂😂

Denver Broncos' Quinn Meinerz isn't happy, the Kansas City Chiefs ran that play on the Las Vegas Raiders

While the Chiefs' trick play went viral, with many people liking the creativity displayed, not everyone was a fan of the play.

Denver Broncos guard Quinn Meinerz spoke to the media about how he didn't like it and how he really wants to beat the Chiefs next season.

Meinerz told KOA Radio's Brandon Kriszal::

“There definitely will be time to sit and reflect on what happened this year. Initial thoughts are we understand that’s unacceptable, and it’s time for Broncos Country to be on the winning side and being in the playoffs and dominating our opponents in this division. I said it before, I’m sick of losing to the Chiefs. That is like my No. 1 goal that I’m going to be looking at every day is I really want to beat them.”

Denver lost each matchup against the Chiefs this season. They lost by 27-24 on January 1st, and again on December 11th, by 34-28.

For now, Meinerz is already motivated for the next season. The Chiefs will enjoy a first-round bye in the first-round of the playoffs.
