Travis Kelce's Grotesquerie co-star Niecy Nash-Betts pokes fun at 'greedy' TE's food habit
Travis Kelce is all geared up for a possible career in Hollywood. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end has taken on multiple side projects, including FX's highly anticipated show 'Grotesquerie'.
The show focuses on 'eerily personal' crimes, which Niecy Nash-Betts will try to solve. Kelce is, of course, working on his very first drama series. This won't be a cameo as himself, but a full-fledged role for the tight end.
In a recent interview with ETalk (as per PEOPLE), Nash-Betts spoke about Kelce, shedding light on the TE as a co-star and trolling him for his food habits. According to the Claws actress, Kelce was apparently too greedy while eating.
"Anything and everything. Travis is greedy," Nash-Betts joked. "Anything and everything. I'm talking from burgers to pasta. Only one of us ever ate a salad and that was me."
Addressing his acting, however, she was all praise. Nash squashed fan worries, letting everyone know that Kelce might surprise us all.
"He is so charming, but comes to work prepared. He's open to learn. And I think his fans are going to be pleasantly surprised."
Not only is Nash-Betts impressed with Kelce's work on set, she and her wife, Jesicca Betts, are looking to attend a Chiefs game soon.
Travis Kelce's mother Donna Kelce 'dissed' her son's acting debut
While Nash-Betts is all praise for Kelce's work ethic, the TE's mother, Donna Kelce, went viral for talking about her son's performance in a different way.
Donna Kelce spoke to Variety, speaking about Kelce working on getting better.
“Sometimes parents want to fix things for their kids," she said. "But sometimes, it’s better to just let them fail. You learn the most from things you don’t do well. Hopefully, if this is something he wants to do, he’ll get better at it.”
Fans found the situation amusing, with many convinced that Kelce's performance wasn't up to the mark.
That being said, director Ryan Murphy is confident in Kelce's acting ability. As per Murphy, Kelce worked with an acting coach for months and was definitely committed to the craft.
In fact, the two even spoke about Kelce's girlfriend Taylor Swift while on the the sets. She was extremely supportive of the TE's acting debut and wanted him to try everything out.
"She's very supportive of him, and if he has an interest, she wanted him to try it. I was thrilled about that."
While Swift is a common fixture at Kelce's NFL games, it is not certain if she visited him while the TV show was being shot.
