Travis Kelce's mother Donna reveals post-fame struggles with privacy
Over the years, Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce's fame has skyrocketed, with significant contributions from tight end's girlfriend Taylor Swift. There hasn't just been a rise in the popularity of the NFL stars but also in the fame of their parents, Donna and Ed Kelce.
While Donna and Ed have been enjoying their share of fame, they have also been dealing with the negative side of it. Travis Kelce's mom Donna opened up about her post-fame struggles, in the latest edition of Women of the Year: The Moms magazine by Glamour.
"We can’t go anywhere, really. If we want to do something, you have to rent out the restaurant or the movie theater or whatever. I do get to sneak away every once in a while, and we go to places that nobody knows where they are," Donna said.
"I’m grateful people know who I am, and most of them are very, very respectful. It’s just when somebody tries to take a picture of you in the bathroom, ‘I’m like, whoa,'" Donna further added.
Despite facing the negatives of fame, Donna Kelce is currently in her thriving era, where she is having a great time in her life. During an interview with PEOPLE last month, Donna opened up about her life lately.
“It’s been a ride. That’s for sure. Sometimes, I feel I'm on some kind of a different planet. I’m like, ‘What has my life become?’" Donna said.
Apart from talking about struggles with fame, Donna Kelce opened up about her long-paused divorce with ex-husband Ed Kelce in the Glamour magazine.
Donna Kelce shared untold details of the long-paused divorce with Ed Kelce
In Women of the Year: The Moms magazine by Glamour, released on Thursday, Donna Kelce opened up about keeping her divorce with ex-husband Ed on pause. Talking about the same, she said:
"My husband and I knew that our marriage was not working, but we stayed together for the kids. Ours was a very friendly relationship. So, we could do that and make sure that their life was as normal as possible. But in that one respect, I did stand still for several years until I could move on my own.
"I was a commercial banker for a bank in several different states. I wanted to get ahead. I worked really, really hard. I was a major breadwinner in the family. And I think it’s important for kids to see that a woman can do whatever she wants, but I did stand still too," Donna further added.
While it isn't clear when Donna and Ed separated, the couple reportedly exchanged vows in the late 70s, according to PEOPLE. The couple remained together for over 25 years, until their sons Jason and Travis were mature enough and well-established in their careers.
