Travis Kelce's mother Donna uncovers details of long-paused divorce with ex-husband Ed
Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce's parents Donna and Ed had a 25-year-long marriage before they parted ways. In the 2023 documentary 'Kelce', Donna revealed certain details about her separation from Ed. She claimed that she waited for divorce until Travis and Jason were well-established in the NFL.
Almost a year later, Donna Kelce has once again opened up about her long-paused divorce, in the 2024 edition of 'Women of the Year: The Moms' magazine by Glamour. Published on Thursday, Donna revealed some untold details about her marriage with Ed in it.
"My husband and I knew that our marriage was not working, but we stayed together for the kids. Ours was a very friendly relationship. So, we could do that and make sure that their life was as normal as possible. But in that one respect, I did stand still for several years until I could move on my own," Donna said.
"I was a commercial banker for a bank in several different states. I wanted to get ahead. I worked really, really hard. I was a major breadwinner in the family. And I think it’s important for kids to see that a woman can do whatever she wants, but I did stand still too," Donna further added.
In the Kelce documentary last year, Ed made a similar statement, where he expressed one more reason not to conclude his marriage with Donna. Explaining how the separation would have been a nightmare for them, Ed said:
“If we had split as we probably both would have preferred, that would have been a nightmare with the logistics, getting kids where they had to be and providing all the support."
Even though it's not public information when the couple separated, according to PEOPLE, the two got married in the late 70s. They had a typical love at first sight, which led to their marriage.

During an episode of the New Heights podcast, Donna and Ed opened up about the backstory of their relationship. Donna revealed how she stopped by a bar called Fagan's, located in Old Cleveland Flats, while she was on her way to a date.
Ed happened to be present at the bar for some after-work drinks. The couple started talking and enjoyed each other's company so much that Donna ended up ditching the guy she was supposed to be on a date with. Talking about the same, she confessed:
"I was supposed to go out with a guy that night. We were supposed to go to a play, and I never made it. Your dad and I talked forever. It was a good play too! I really wanted to see it. It was meant to be. It's just the way it was."
Despite their divorce, Donna and Ed remained on friendly terms and continued supporting their kids, Travis and Jason. The two are one of the greatest fans of the NFL stars and don't miss a chance to support them both on-field and off-field.
