Travis Kelce's teammate confirms theory over Chiefs TE's stats picture since dating Taylor Swift
There's a viral theory among fans claiming Travis Kelce performs better when Taylor Swift is in attendance at that Kansas City Chiefs game. Chiefs' star Justin Reid was asked about the same.
Following the Chiefs' MNF win over the New Orleans Saints, Kay Adams interviewed Reid on the "Up & Adams Show" on Tuesday. Adams asked Reid to shed light on the theory claiming Swift to be the performance booster for Kelce.
"Who doesn't play better when they want to impress their girlfriend? Yes, absolutely. Taylor, come to all the games. Taylor, keep coming," Reid said.
Before discussing Taylor Swift's positive impact on Travis Kelly's performance, Kay Adams and Justin Reid discussed the tight end's improved performance. The Chiefs' tight end has been criticized a lot lately for his slow start to the 2024 season. So when Adams asked:
"There's always stories floating around your boy Trav being 35. He doesn't have it anymore. And he has 16 catches in the last two games. Tell me what flicked? What difference was made?"
Justin Reid replied:
"You know everyone has to adjust. Everyone in the league knows what Travis is capable of and it's just about adjusting to finding ways to navigate what they were doing against them. Finding ways to beat the double teams, trying to take the pressure off. He's helping everybody even when he's not getting the balls."
Travis Kelce stats from last season with and without Taylor Swift in attendance
Travis Kelce was impressive last season when Taylor Swift attended Chiefs games. In 13 games the pop star attended all the way to the Super Bowl, Kelce averaged 79.9 yards and 6.8 catches. He amassed 89 catches for 1,039 yards and five touchdowns.
In six Chiefs games Swift didn't attend, Kelce struggled. The tight end averaged 50.0 yards on 6.0 catches. In total, he had 36 catches for 300 yards and three touchdowns.
Therefore, if we look at Kelce's stats, it clearly proves that the tight end does perform well in Taylor Swift's presence.
