Travis Kelce splurges $31,000 for teammate Patrick Mahomes' 29th birthday gift
Teammates Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes have become good friends over the years. So Kelce pulled out his big bucks and left no stone unturned for the gift when the quarterback’s birthday rolled around. Mahomes couldn’t help but admire the tight end for his thoughtfulness.
Mahomes joined the Kansas City Chiefs in 2017, while Kelce had been part of the squad since 2013. The duo are also close golfing buddies. So when it was time to gift the man with the largest contract in NFL history ($450 million), Kelce did not disappoint.
Mahomes appeared on Tuesday on 96.5 The Fan’s ‘The Drive’ show and shared what he received from the TE.
“Travis got me a Louis Vuitton golf bag so that is gonna be sweet,” Mahomes said. “I don’t know how much I can use that on the golf course, but it will be nice to have.”
However, the exact model of the golf bag Kelce gifted is unknown, as several bags ranging from $23,000 to $31,500 are available on the luxury brand’s website.
Patrick Mahomes enjoyed his birthday bash
Earlier on his birthday, the Chiefs QB had a scare from the Cincinnati Bengals. In a nail-biting finish, the Chiefs won by 26-25, thanks to a last-second field goal from Harrison Butker. This win was cheery on top of his birthday party, hosted by his wife, Brittany Mahomes.
“Happy Birthday to one of the greatest humans ever, my husband, best friend and the best daddy ever! We are so grateful you are ours! We Love Youuuuuu," she posted on Instagram.
Almost all of Patrick Mahomes' teammates attended the party. They brought their significant others as well. Taylor Swift was also at the party. Mahomes and Kelce will return to action on Sunday as they travel to Atlanta to take on the Falcons in their Week 3 fixture.
