Trevon Diggs hits back at ESPN for snubbing him from top 10 CB list
Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs isn’t one to keep his mouth shut when it comes to him or his teammates. The cornerback aimed ESPN for its top 10 CB list. The list snubbed both him and teammate DaRon Bland.
Earlier this offseason, ESPN anonymously surveyed scouts, coaches and executives to determine the top 10 players at every position in the league. Several Cowboys members found their names in this list.
On Wednesday, Diggs addressed the issue with this list while speaking to the press after the training camp. He went to bat for himself and Bland.
“I feel I’m in a league of my own”, Diggs said to the media (via @__brittbrat_). “There’s nobody that can do what I do. There’s nobody that can do what Bland does. I feel like we’re in a league of our own, and that’s that."
"I don’t care about lists. I work my sh*t on the field. You can pull up another DB on that list that’s done anything we’ve done. Show me.”
One possible reason for not including Diggs could’ve been that he played only two games last season. The CB tore his ACL during practice. However, Diggs firmly said that although he did not care about the list, his teammate who took his place should’ve been on it.
Despite Diggs being unable to play last season, the Cowboys went 12-5 in the regular season and won the NFC East division.
Micah Parsons stands up for Trevon Diggs
Trevon Diggs' fellow Cowboys teammate Micah Parsons also had issues with ESPN’s list. However, he was ranked in it, albeit at No. 7 for the edge rushers. Yet, Parsons called out the voters on X (formerly Twitter) for snubbing Diggs.
“I don’t think players should be the only ones getting drug tested 7!” He tweeted.
Cowboys fans shall hope that Parsons and Diggs do their best this season, as their performances will be enough for the voters to rethink next year.
