Tua Tagovailoa’s brother Taulia finally lands pro football job after 2024 NFL Draft disappointment
Tua Tagovailoa's brother Taulia went undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft. He later participated in the Seattle Seahawks’ rookie minicamp and did the same with the Arizona Cardinals, but neither team signed the quarterback.
Taulia Tagovailoa has now signed with the Canadian Football League's Hamilton Tiger-Cats and will look to put people on notice while playing there. The 24-year-old player is coming off a good year with Maryland, throwing for 3,377 yards, 25 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
He played four years at Maryland and also became the Big Ten conference's all-time passing yards leader. During his five-year collegiate career, Tagovailoa threw for a total of 11,356 yards, 77 touchdowns and 37 interceptions.
Taulia's older brother Tua has cemented himself as one of the franchise quarterbacks in the league, and the younger brother will hope that his play in the CFL impress NFL scouts.
Tua Tagovailoa expected to sign contract extension soon
Tua Tagovailoa is coming off the best statistical year of his career. Despite all the injury concerns surrounding him, he didn't miss a game for the Dolphins last season. He threw for 4,624 yards, 29 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in 17 games with a passer rating of 101.1.
Tagovailoa is expected to sign a contract extension with the Dolphins soon, and it wouldn't be a surprise if both parties agree terms before the start of the new NFL season.
Given his performance in the regular season under Mike McDaniels, a potential contract extension would deservedly position Tagovailoa among the three highest-paid quarterbacks in the league.
However, his performance in the playoff game last year against the Kansas City Chiefs left much to be desired. Hopefully, McDaniels and Tagovailoa will figure it out this year and win games against quality teams when the weather gets colder.
