Tyreek Hill's agent furious over 'completely unnecessary' detainment of Dolphins WR two hours before Week 1 kickoff vs Jaguars

Tyreek Hill's agent Drew Rosenhaus was left fuming over the Miami Dolphins wide receiver's detainment and described the incident as a "completely unnecessary" turn of events.

Tyreek Hill found himself in trouble with the authorities mere hours before their season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

He was detained by the police over a traffic violation one block from Hard Rock Stadium.

ESPN spoke with Drew Rosenhaus, the NFL super agent who represents Hill.

"I'm very distraught about it. We're going to have to look into it," Rosenhaus said.

The Dolphins released a statement after Hill's detainment that read:

"This morning, WR Tyreek Hill was pulled over for a traffic incident about one block from the stadium and briefly detained by police. He has since been released. Several teammates saw the incident and stopped to offer support. Tyreek and all other players involved have safely arrived to the stadium and will be available for today’s game."

Why was Tyreek Hill detained?

ESPN's Jeff Darlington added further context to Hill's detainment this morning. Darlington reported that Hill was cited for reckless driving as a result of his incident outside the stadium.

Hill reportedly got into a verbal altercation with the police on the scene, following which one of the officers chose to place Hill in handcuffs. The NFL star was then cited and released after the situation was de-escalated.

Will Tyreek Hill play vs Jaguars?

Per multiple reports, Hill has been released by the police. If all goes to plan, Hill will suit up against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 pm from Hard Rock Stadium.

Provided Hill takes the field, he will have the opportunity to once again chase history with one eye on breaking Calvin 'Megatron' Johnson's single-season receiving record of 1,964 yards.
