Tyreek Hill delivers insight into Dolphins’ Week 4 QB situation with Tua Tagovailoa still out
Tyreek Hill will be facing the Tennessee Titans without his star quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa. The Miami Dolphins are 1-2, while the Titans are yet to record a win this season. That doesn't mean that things will be easy for the Dolphins.
The team had put Tua on IR, which means he could be out for at least four weeks. He was injured in the loss to the Buffalo Bills when he collided with Damar Hamlin. Tua had suffered the third concussion of his NFL career.
There has been a lot of buzz about who would replace Tua as the starting quarterback. The battle is between Tim Boyle and Tyler Huntley. As per a columnist for the Miami Herald, Tyreek Hill said that he only caught passes from Boyle during practice on Thursday.
However, the writer wasn't sure if what Hill said could be trusted. Why? Apparently Tyler Huntley was the favorite of the locker room and he could be the one starting in the Titans game.
The go-to QB for the Dolphins was Skylar Thompson, who started for them in the Seahawks game. However, the team not only lost the game 24-3 but they also lost Thompson to a rib injury which might see him miss a few games. With the main backup QB gone, the Dolphins are now down to Huntley and Boyle.
As of Thursday, coach Mike McDaniel refused to name the starting QB due to "competitive advantage" reasons. He also hinted that he will only finalize the names after the team is through with their practice sessions for the week.
Tyreek Hill, in the meanwhile, has his own matters to attend to.
Tyreek Hill hires George Floyd's lawyer
In June 2024, Hill was accused of assault at a Miami Beach marina. He allegedly physically hit a man with whom he had a verbal dispute. Hill apologized after the incident came to light and even settled financially with the victim, however, the case is still running.
He recently chose Ben Crump, a high-profile civil rights attorney, who had represented the family of George Floyd, as his lawyer.
Tyreek Hill had been involved in another controversy just hours ahead of the Jacksonville Jaguars game. He was stopped by the Miami police for speeding, and when he refused to let down his windows, he was yanked from his car and handcuffed.
This caused an outrage because the police manhandled Tyreek Hill and used unnecessary force which the situation did not really call for.
