Tyreek Hill drops 5-word message after Dolphins take a loss on cold evening vs Packers

Tyreek Hill came out with words of encouragement after the Dolphins' dispiriting loss to the Packers on Thanksgiving night. The Miami team went on the road to a freezing Lambeau Field in what many had billed as a close game between two playoff-chasing teams.

The Dolphins came into this matchup having won three straight and looking like the team that many tipped to win the AFC East before the season began. Those plans were laid to waste after Tua Tagovailoa missed multiple games with concussion but the starting quarterback's return has coincided with an uptick in their form.

However, they came undone against the Packers as mistakes on special teams, missed opportunities on offense, and lapses on defense contributed to the home team taking a three-score lead into halftime and never relinquishing their advantage. It now means that Miami is 5-7 for the season with just five more weeks remaining in 2024. They need to win and hope other teams lose if they retain aspirations of making the postseason.

Tyreek Hill, for one, is refusing to throw in the towel. He took to X/Twitter to write a message that could be interpreted as a clarion call for both his teammates and fans. He said,

"We will continue to fight"

Tyreek Hill and Dolphins' playoff chances hanging by a thread after loss to Packers

The Dolphins' loss to the Packers means they are now 5-7 for the season and just outside the playoff bubble, tied with the Indianapolis Colts. The issue is that they are now two games behind the Broncos, who occupy the final postseason spot in the AFC.

Denver takes on Cleveland on Monday this week and will go three games ahead by the end of Week 13 if they secure a win. However, they have a bye next week when the Dolphins take on the hapless Jets, which should allow Tyreek Hill and company to cut the arrears before Week 15.

The wide receiver's call to keep fighting also makes sense when one looks a the Broncos' remaining schedule. They still have to play the Chiefs, Chargers, and Bengals in the final three weeks and their other opponent is the Colts, who themselves are looking to wrest the final playoff berth away from Denver.

Miami, meanwhile, has an easier conclusion to the season on paper with the Jets, Browns, and 49ers all having losing records. Only the Texans are a team with a winning record, and they have looked far from convincing in recent weeks. The Dolphins have a path to the postseason if they take Tyreek Hill's advice and keep fighting.
