Tyreek Hill gets scary injury update ahead of Dolphins MNF vs Rams
Tyreek Hill and the Miami Dolphins will close Week 10 of the 2024 NFL season by playing the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football. With the Dolphins sitting with a 2-6 record, and the Buffalo Bills running riot with the AFC East at 8-2, a loss could see the team effectively start to build their plans for 2025.
A developing situation with Hill could see the team in trouble during Monday's game. He was added to the injury report for Week 10 with a wrist injury, and his status is questionable. Reports say that the receiver has been having problems with the wrist since preseason.
If the Dolphins fall to 2-7, six games behind in the division and three in the AFC Wild Card race, could the superstar wide receiver call it a season and get surgery for his wrist? His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, did not deny the possibility:
According to doctor Jesse Morse, the wrist problem is unlikely to be a fracture, which would explain why he has been able to play in 2024 even with the injury first appearing during the preseason.
If the wide receiver ends his season prematurely, he'll have two years left on his deal with the franchise. After signing a restructure prior to the regular season, he's now under contract until 2027 and he'll reach free agency at 33.
UPDATE: Tyreek Hill is active for the MNF clash against Los Angeles Rams, the Dolphins WR confirmed to Lisa Salters
Tyreek Hill stats in the 2024 season
With eight games under his belt, the veteran superstar currently has 34 receptions, 446 receiving yards and a single touchdown to his name.
This is a clear downgrade from his previous season. After eight games in 2023, Hill had amassed 1,014 receiving yards, 61 receptions and eight touchdowns. There was a real possibility of Tyreek becoming the first-ever wide receiver to eclipse the 2,000-yard mark in one season, but a late injury vanished those plans.
Of course, this decline can be explained by Tua Tagovailoa's injury, which made him miss five games as Miami's season unraveled. The quarterback returned in Week 9, and Hill's production rose sharply, with 80 receiving yards, his highest amount since Week 1.
