Tyreek Hill hits back after Noah Lyles' 'chasing clout' comment: "Lock in that 50 yard race"
Tyreek Hill has responded to Noah Lyles. The two are engaged in a back-and-forth over their speed, with Hill having the latest word in the conversation. Hill began by asking Lyles to race him after the sprinter won a bronze medal in the 200m race in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Lyles responded that Hill was simply looking for clout and he wasn't worried about any race with the Miami Dolphins player.
Lyles was on Shannon Sharpe and Chad Ochocino's podcast when he made his comments. Hill quoted a video of the conversation and said on X:
"Sign the contract and lock in that 50 yard race..."
Lyles had previously said that the wideout wasn't actually interested in racing, but just wanted attention:
"Tyreek is just chasing clout."
Hill has challenged people before to races, but he hasn't competed in any with the American track star just yet.
Noah Lyles trolls Tyreek Hill
Tyreek Hill is one of the most famous NFL players out there, but that doesn't mean that Noah Lyles knows who he or any other football players are. Lyles competes in a totally different world, and even though Hill has challenged him, he's not completely familiar with him.
Lyles won a gold and a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The race for the third-place finish reportedly came after a COVID-19 diagnosis. He said on Night Cap that he hardly knew who Hill was:
"I'm going to be honest, I forget his name all the time. If it's not about track or League of Legends, yeah."
He added:
"Any time something like that comes up, he says he wants to race them. If he really wants to race people, he would've showed up like DK Metcalf."
Hill insists that he wants to race and wants to see Lyles on the football field for a special head-to-head, but it remains to be seen if the two will actually compete against one another.
The Miami Dolphins player is one of football's fastest players, but it remains to be seen how he stacks up against the fastest in the world in a sport predicated entirely on running.
