Tyreek Hill lawsuit: Dolphins WR sued for assault, accused of breaking woman's legs
A social media influencer, Sophie Hall, has sued Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill for battery, assault and negligence after allegedly fracturing her leg during backyard football drills, according to a lawsuit acquired by Ben Ashford of Daily Mail.
Sophie Hall signed her son, who is an offensive lineman, for Tyreek Hill's camp in May 2023. The Dolphins WR later flew the influencer to his Miami mansion, per the lawsuit.
Hill reportedly invited Sophie Hall to participate in the football drills. The Dolphins WR asked Hall to adopt a defensive lineman position and rush at him as if she was pursuing a quarterback. The lawsuit claims Hall followed the instructions and Hill was eventually knocked down backwards.
"Ms. Hall did as instructed and on contact with the defendant, caused Hill to be pushed backwards, garnering laughter from the witnesses present at the time, including the defendant's mother, sister, friend and trainer," the lawsuit states.
Tyreek Hill allegedly became angry and embarrassed, switched position to pass rusher and Hall was the offensive lineman. According to the lawsuit, the Dolphins WR "charged into" the influencer with "crushing force," which resulted in Hall fracturing her leg and requiring reconstructive surgery and months of physiotherapy.
There has been no comment from Tyreek Hill on this case so far.
Tyreek Hill's past legal issues
This is not the first time Tyreek Hill has courted controversy. The Dolphins WR was arrested in 2014 in Stillwater, Oklahoma, when his then 20-year-old girlfriend complained of assault. Hill later pled guilty to domestic assault and battery by strangulation. He received three years of probation. Hill was also sentenced to a year-long anger management program.
In 2019, Hill was once again the center of investigation for alleged battery after an incident that left his then three-year-old son with a broken arm. Child services were called and they took his kid away temporarily.
Per reports, the child's arm was broken due to an accident rather than an injury. Hill lost custody of his son during the process. The case was later made inactive and the NFL declined to take disciplinary actions against the then Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver.
In 2023, Tyreek Hill was under investigation for assault and battery. As per the reports, the Dolphins WR has allegedly hit an employee at Haulover Marina, a South Florida boating spot, following a disagreement.
The NFL got involved and requested video from the police of the alleged Tyreek Hill incident. Later on, the attorneys of the 29-year-old wideout and the employees of Haulover Marina settled their differences cordially.
