Tyreek Hill lawsuit update: Influencer Sophie Hall demands NFL files detailing WR's alleged history with domestic abuse
Less than a week after being voted Top NFL Player 2024 by his peers, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill found himself facing more potential legal issues. Influencer Sophie Hall, who filed a lawsuit against Hill in February, has requested the NFL to release records pertaining to a previous domestic violence investigation conducted by the league.
According to a report by DailyMail.com, Hall's attorneys have demanded to see all the unreleased NFL files that contain Hill's history of alleged abusive behavior.
On Monday, Hall's lawyers filed requests for all documents and communications between Tyreek Hill and the NFL. Per DailyMail.com, Hall's attorneys will subpoena the NFL directly in the coming weeks.
In addition to the league, wide receiver's former and current teams, the Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins, are also likely to receive subpoenas. Moreover, the publication also reported that the lawyers would subpoena Oklahoma State University, where he was dismissed from the football and track and field teams in 2014 for domestic violence incident. He pleaded guilty to those charges and was sentenced to three years of probation.
Tyreek Hill "didn't touch" Sophie Hall, per court filings
In February 2024, social media influencer Sophie Hall filed a lawsuit against Tyreek Hill, accusing him of breaking her leg. However, according to court filings released in May, Hill claims that he did not cause the injury.
Per DailyMail's report, Hill's lawyer has stated that the wide receiver didn't even touch Hall. They state that Hall's injury resulted from her tripping over her dog during a practice session conducted at Hill's Florida home.
"Plaintiff consented to participating in a sports activity that involved contact and thus there was a good faith basis to believe that the plaintiff was aware of contact would be involved, despite in this case, plaintiff was not touched by [Hill] as she tripped over a dog. Plaintiffs alleged injuries or damages were pre-existing including her pre-existing knee issues," new court filings stated.
Before the report came to light, Tyreek Hill's lawyers demanded evidence for Hall's claim for $75,000 in punitive damages. Since Hall failed to provide any solid proof, the wide receiver's attorney expressed that the case could be dismissed soon. However, things might get more complicated considering Hall's new subpoenas.
