Tyreek Hill resurrects beef with Noah Lyles, asserts dominance over 6x World champion
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill resurrected his beef with Olympic champion Noah Lyles. Hill and Lyles have taken aim at each other over who is faster.
Lyles won Olympic gold in the 2024 Paris Olympics in the 100m sprint. The winner of the race is considered to be the fastest man in the world, which Hill doesn't think is the case.
After YouTuber IShowSpeed raced against Lyles, which was close, Hill took to social media to take aim at the sprinter.
"And track athletes think he gone beat me," Hill wrote.
Lyles ran the 100m in 9.79 seconds to win the gold medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics. It was his first gold in the 100m dash in the Olympics.
Although IShowSpeed was competitive against Lyles, it's likely that the six-time World Championships gold medal winner wasn't going full out.
Noah Lyles wants to race Tyreek Hill
Noah Lyles and Tyreek Hill had a beef over who is faster and both have spoken about wanting race each other.
Hill insisted that he would beat Lyles in a 50-yard dash and the sprinter is open to making the race happen.
“I mean, if somebody wants to sponsor the event and we’re racing for millions of dollars and it’s on a track and we’re running 100 meters, then sure, we can race,” Lyles told NBC News.
“But it has to be legit. I’m not here to do gimmicks. You’re racing against a guy who has worked his whole life to get the title of ‘the world’s fastest man,’ and you’ve worked to be a great football player. You can’t just jump the line because you’re a great football player.”
The 50 yards would be just over 45 meters, which is why Tyreek Hill wants to do that, and not the full 100-meter sprint.
However, Lyles said the race would have to be 100 meters as he isn't going to do a gimmick race.
“Again, I’m not here to do gimmicks,” Lyles said. “You want to challenge me, ‘the world’s fastest man,’ if you want to challenge that, you have to challenge that in his event.”
Whether or not the race will ever happen is to be seen. But, the focus right now for Tyreek Hill is the 2024 NFL season.
The Miami Dolphins are off to a 2-6 start and will go on the road to play the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night.
