Tyreek Hill hints at why LeSean McCoy went on unhinged Eric Bieniemy rant after landing Commanders job
LeSean McCoy was apparently shocked when he heard the recent news that Eric Bieniemy was hired by the Washington Commanders to take over as their new offensive coordinator.
McCoy doesn't seem to think that Bieniemy deserved the promotion he received after the two spent time together with the Kansas City Chiefs. He even publicly criticized the Commanders' new hire.
His controversial rant has drawn a lot of attention around the NFL world. One player who chimed in on the comments was Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill. He, like McCoy, previously played for the Chiefs while Bieniemy served as their offensive coordinator under head coach Andy Reid.
Hill seems to think LeSean McCoy has a personal issue with Eric Bieniemy, rather than basing his opinion on his coaching abilities. This was demonstrated when he posted this comical explanation on his personal Twitter account:

Fumbles were a bit of an issue for McCoy during his NFL career, though not a massive problem, so Tyreek Hill may be onto something. He recorded multiple fumbles in all but two seasons of his career. During the one year he spent with the Chiefs, McCoy fumbled the football three times in just 13 games.
It's entirely possible that Eric Bieniemy coached him in methods to prevent further fumbles. It's unclear if that's the reason why LeSean McCoy lashed out against the Commanders hiring him.
What did LeSean McCoy say about Eric Bieniemy when the Commanders hired him?
When LeSean McCoy heard the news about Bieniemy becoming the new offensive coordinator for the Commanders, he appeared on an episode of "Speak For Yourself" to express his opinion on the situation.
"What's his value? What makes him a good offensive coordinator? The problem is, a lot of these people that go on social media, 'He should be the guy for the job,' they haven't played there. I've been in the rooms where he's coaching and he has nothing to do with the pass game at all. When the plays are designed, that's Andy Reid.
"When you talk about offensive coordinators, I can tell you what makes Brian Daboll with the Giants a very good coordinator. I can tell you about Andy Reid or Doug Pederson. But Eric Bieniemy, what makes him good? When we watch the film of practices and we correct the wide receivers, the running backs, the quarterbacks, he doesn't talk in there. Andy Reid talks in there."

McCoy clearly believes that the Chiefs' offensive success is a direct result of Andy Reid and that Bieniemy has nothing to do with it. This is an opinion that has been shared by others around the NFL and one of the reasons why Bieniemy has been passed on during several head coaching cycles. He now has an opportunity to step out of Reid's shadow by solely leading the Commanders offense.
