Tyreek Hill sends 8-word message as Dolphins clinch 15-10 win vs Patriots
Tyreek Hill and the Dolphins have had to endure a couple of tough weeks but finally got back on track with a divisional win over the Patriots. Since Tua Tagovailoa went down with a concussion in Week 3, Miami has been struggling on offense, losing that game against the Bills.
They followed that up with three quarterbacks in two games as Skylar Thompson, Tim Boyle and Tyler Huntley all tried their luck, but none led to victories. Tyreek Hill was cutting a frustrated figure, and one was forced to wonder what he was thinking as his former team, the Kansas City Chiefs, went 4-0 despite looking to add a wide receiver like him.
However, against an admittedly poor Patriots team, the Dolphins did the bare minimum to get the win. More importantly, they are now 2-3, which has them tied with the Jets and one game behind the Bills after both of them lost in Week 5. Hill later paid homage to the Dolphins' grit, tweeting:
"Great teams find ways to win ugly games"
Tyreek Hill praises his Dolphins teammates after tough win over Patriots
Tyreek Hill wanted to convey to all NFL observers that the Dolphins haven't given up on the season even if others have given up on them.
With Tua Tagovailoa on injured reserve and coach Mike McDaniel struggling to get other quarterbacks playing in the same explosive manner, many think they would shut down for the season and play for draft picks.
People have mentioned Tua Tagovailoa retiring and Miami drafting a quarterback early in next year's draft and trading Tyreek Hill to rebuild again for the future.
Hence, the pressure was building on the Dolphins organization and this week's game against the Patriots was being billed as a must-win. New England hadn't won since their first-week upset against Cincinnati and Miami duly delivered today in handing them yet another defeat. After the victory, Hill praised his teammates for overcoming the high-pressure situation, tweeting:
"Good job fellas"
Hill also had a better game than the last few weeks. Except for the opening game against the Jaguars, he didn't have a single 50-yard game. He got 69 yards against the Patriots for the Dolphins even though he didn't record a touchdown. There will be tougher challenges to come for Miami than New England, though.
