Tyreek Hill sends super agent Drew Rosenhaus strong message as Dolphins WR angles for new contract

Wide receiver Tyreek Hill is happy with the Miami Dolphins and doesn't have any plans to leave. The 30-year-old was traded from the Kansas City Chiefs to the Miami Dolphins in March 2022. After the trade, he signed a lucrative four-year deal worth $120 million. Hill is currently in talks to restructure and sign a contract extension.

While speaking with the media on Tuesday morning at training camp, Hill said he told his well-known agent, Drew Rosenhaus, not to get him traded again as the negotiations continued.

“I want to be in Miami.”

After winning a Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs and back-to-back seasons of breaking over 1,200 receiving yards, Hill was shockingly traded to the Miami Dolphins. It is a notion that he wants to avoid this time around with his current team.

Tyreek Hill's new contract extension could break him into the top 5 highest-paid NFL WRs

The idea of a contract extension for wide receiver Tyreek Hill is a no-brainer for the Miami Dolphins. Although quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has shown signs of being a top-tier quarterback, Hill has been the best player on the Dolphins offense.

Hill's current contract pays him $30 million a season; the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL is the Minnesota Vikings' Justin Jefferson. The latter signed a four-year deal worth $140 million, which will pay him $35 million a season.

Tyreek Hill's numbers and quest to become the first wide receiver to break the 2,000 receiving yards in a season mark could see him come quite close to Jefferson's salary.

Hill had 119 receptions in 2023, totaling 1,799 receiving yards (league best) and 13 touchdowns. Injuries near the conclusion of the season kept Hill from surpassing the 2,000-yard milestone.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown is set to make $32 million and Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown's new contract will now pay him $30.002 million.

Hill's NFL resume, which includes a Super Bowl win, eight Pro Bowl appearances and five first-time All-Pro selections, speaks for itself and shows that an additional three to five million a season could be in line for the Dolphins wide receiver.
