“I didn’t know he was alive” – Vikings WR K.J. Osborn recounts details of heroic rescue from burning car
Minnesota Vikings WR K.J. Osborn recently helped save a driver from a burning car.
Traveling in an Uber with a few other people in Austin, Texas, Osborn was there just in time to spot the vehicle and save the man. The NFL star also discussed the incident while on "The Adam Schefter Podcast."
"Initially when he crashed I didn't even see his face. So I didn't even know he was alive when we walked up to the car. And when we got to the car he was kinda in a daze. I don't know if he was conscious," Osborn said.
"But I think he felt the heat coming to his legs. He was kind of out of it. And that's when we began to talk to him. You know, try to get him out."
"I was thinking this was a big risk and the car could blow up at any second. But my Uber driver went right up to the car, opened the door and we saw he was alive but couldn't move. The car was in flames the whole time and were trying to get him out of the car," Osborn continued.
In the end, they pulled him out of the car with some difficulty. K.J. Osborn, who carried him, had blood all over his shirt.
K.J. Osborn was in the right place at the right time
Apart from his recent podcast appearance with Schefter, K.J. Osborn also shared a tweet recounting his experience. As per the Vikings player, this was indeed the craziest experience of his life.
K. J. Osborn added that he was in the right place at the right time, and referred to the others present as heroes.
"Last night myself and three absolute heroes helped save a man's life by rescuing him from a vehicle up in flames after a bad crash. A situation I'd never imagine being a part of in a million years."
The Minnesota Vikings receiver and all those involved should be proud of their actions.
