Von Miller breaks silence about season-ending ACL injury: "Life is good"

Buffalo Bills edge rusher Von Miller signed a six-year, $120 million deal with the team this off-season to increase their chances of getting to the Super Bowl.

Unfortunately, for Von Miller and the Bills, he suffered a knee injury on Thanksgiving versus the Detroit Lions that will keep him sidelined for the remainder of the season.

Initially, it was believed that Miller would be back in two to four weeks, but after further tests, he suffered more damage to his knee than expected, which forced him to have a longer recovery time.

Miller made an appearance on the Pat McAfee show and spoke with Pat about his injury. He said he is in good spirits despite the injury.

Miller said:

"But I'm a huge believer in mindset. And your mindset is what's going to carry you through, you know, tough times like this. And, you know, I said several times on this show right here, mindset is everything. And, you know, my mindset and where I am mentally, I'm in a really good space and that's 75% of it.
"So, you know, I've been through this before. I've been down this road before. I was talking to guys on our team. Whether that's true, Davis or Tommy Dore or any of these guys is going through ACL recovery."

Miller added:

"I was telling him, you got to do this, got to do that. You got to be mentally here and there. And now I get a chance to prove to those guys, you know, how tough I am, how well, how much, I'm willing to work. And, you know, I'm excited for that challenge.
"I'm excited to show my teammates, you know, how I am gonna get through this and be ready for training camp, man? So I'm excited. Yeah. You know, whenever you get hit with, you know, something like this, it sucks at first, but I won't to let myself go down that depressing, depressing road and just get into, like, a little ball of self-pity, you know?
"I'm not doing that well. My life is good, man. I'm in a great spot. And yeah, you got to take it one day at a time and be all right."
"Whenever you're hit with an injury like this there's gonna be some disappointment.. mindset is everything & I'm in a really good place"

In the 11 games he played in with the Buffalo Bills this season, Von Miller made his presence known and gave the Bills reassurance that he's still a dominant pass rusher/linebacker.

He recorded eight sacks, 21 tackles, one forced fumble, two pass deflections, and 27 QB pressures in his first season with the Bills. His prescence will be missed when the Bills make their playoff run as Miller also seems to perform well in the playoffs.

Luckily for the Bills, Von Miller is under contract for another five seasons. They should be able to get the star edge rusher by the beginning of next season.
