WATCH: DK Metcalf swings helmet at Tre Brown as Seahawks training turns sour

The Seattle Seahawks' DK Metcalf is one of the most imposing and explosive wide receivers in the NFL today. At 6-foot-4 and 235 lbs., he is large enough to play tight end, yet he also possesses insane athleticism that allows him to overpower defenders for massive catches.

He can also be quite volatile, as shown in 2021 when he grabbed the masks of two Green Bay Packers defensive backs during a shutout loss or two years later when he taunted the Los Angeles Rams at their sideline and attacked cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon, both times getting ejected.

That notion reemerged on Wednesday's practice session when he attacked his teammate and cornerback Tre Brown. Brown attacked fellow wideout Jake Bobo during a play, which caused a fight.

As Good Morning Football was airing in the foreground, Metcalf grabbed Brown's helmet and swung it at him, only to instead hit safety K'Von Wallace, who was playing peacemaker:

Riq Wollen discussed facing DK Metcalf in practice after a scuffle

Apparently, however, this is not DK Metcalf's first time getting overly physical during practice. During an earlier practice, he and another cornerback, fellow Pro Bowler Riq Woolen, had a scuffle, the first within the Seahawks. But since then, the two have been mostly neutral to each other.

Speaking about it, Woolen said:

"Honestly, it makes it easier when it comes to gameday. We got DK, (sophomore Jaxon Smith-Njigba), (veteran Tyler Lockett), you get a real good combination of different things from all of them. So I like going against all three because when you go up against certain receivers, they're not going to be exactly like DK but may have certain things from (him)."

Another fan of the matchup is new head coach Mike Macdonald, who said:

“I see iron sharpening iron out there when [Woolen] is going against the wideouts, especially DK [Metcalf]. Just someone that’s on a mission. He’s responding to the coaching, and he’s bought in, and I think the players are excited about him. I don’t want to oversell it right now, but I think you can sense our excitement about [him].”

The Seahawks begin their preseason at the Los Angeles Chargers on Aug. 10 and will kick off the regular season against the Denver Broncos on Sep. 8.
