WATCH: James Harden joins 49ers in triumph as franchise celebrate Week 6 win over Seahawks
The San Francisco 49ers broke their red zone curse on Thursday, scoring a great 36-24 victory over the Seattle Seahawks to return to .500 and get some breathing room in the NFC West. It wasn't the most pretty of the wins, but the important thing is they got the job done.
One of the guys present at Lumen Field, curiously, was James Harden. The LA Clippers superstar joined his teammates in a stop at the Seahawks stadium before taking a plane to go to Portland as the NBA ramps up with the preseason.
After the game, Harden was shown celebrating San Francisco's win along with many players of the franchise. The NFL's official account on Twitter posted a video of him alongside Deebo Samuel as the players move to the locker room after the game:
Harden was spotting a Deebo Samuel jersey during the game. The Clippers had to rush right after they practice to catch the plane, as they wanted to watch the game as a sort of team-bond activity before returning to the grind of preparation for the 2024-25 NBA season.
49ers beat Seahawks, get back in the NFC West race
It was a good win for San Francisco on Thursday, as they were never behind their rivals in a game that turned out to be lopsided. Geno Smith committed multiple turnovers and had questionable interceptions, and as a result, the Seahawks were not a match.
This will be a game that the 49ers will be thankful that happened on a Thursday. Running back Jordan Mason, who has done an admirable job filling in for Christian McCaffrey, left the game in the second quarter - he returned for a single run in the third before going out for good - with a shoulder injury that's expected to be an AC sprain.
George Kittle kept his TD streak (four games) alive with two touchdowns, while Deebo Samuel also was important for the offense with a long touchdown and some runs from the backfield. Offensively, it was a good game for the 49ers - but the red zone woes continued with three field goals.
