Watch: Jason Kelce arm wrestles American Olympian Nicole Heavirland in Paris
Jason Kelce may have retired from the NFL earlier this year, but he's still finding ways to indulge in friendly competition. The former Philadelphia Eagles center and his wife, Kylie Kelce, are in Paris for the 2024 Olympics, attending field hockey and rugby games in support of Team USA.
The Kelces met with members of the United States Women's Rugby team and decided to challenge Olympian Nicole Heavirland to an arm wrestling match. Heavirland shared a video of the match on her Instagram page over the weekend, with a caption hinting that Kelce might have been using the table to his advantage:
"@jason.kelce holding on to that table a little bit? š¤£"
Although Jason Kelce won the arm wrestling competition, the Rugby star clearly had her doubts about his technique. Kylie Kelce joined the conversation in the comments, saying:
"I tried to warn you!"
Fellow United States Rugby star, Ilona Maher also recruited Kelce to be their team's super fan. Since the United States Women's Water Polo team has "Flavor Flave," the rugby team asked the Super Bowl-winning center if he would be their super fan, and he happily agreed:
Jason Kelce and Kylie seizing opportunity to attend Olympic Games
Retiring from the National Football League has allowed former NFL center Jason Kelce more time to spend with his family and attend other sporting events. This week, he and his wife, Kylie Kelce, are enjoying their first-ever Olympic experience. He said:
āWhen we found out that we were going to have an opportunity to go to this, the more we thought about it, we were like, āLetās take advantage of it now that we can actually do it.' We love sports, we love competition, we love world events. This is such a unique place where the entire world gets to come together and bond over competition and sports.ā [H/T Associated Press]
Kylie Kelce also shared her long-time desire to attend an Olympic game. As a former collegiate field hockey player, she covered the U.S. Women's Field Hockey Team's journey for NBC Philadelphia and wanted to support the team in Paris:
āI would say Iāve always wanted to come and see (an) Olympic games. When they qualified to come to Paris, I was like, that kind of makes sense. And then when I got to sit down with Ashley and Kelee, it was kind of a no-brainer. ... Through and through, it made sense. Weāre happy to be here.ā [H/T Associated Press]
The former Philadelphia Eagles center has embraced the French culture and is even wearing a beret to all the events.
