WATCH: Jordan Love's $2,400 gesture wins hearts of eight lucky kids
Jordan Love often finds a way to give back. Whether it's through his Hands of 10ve Foundation, which helps underprivileged children, or through various charity games like the upcoming Green Bay Charity Softball Game.
This time around, he and some of his Packers teammates surprised eight children from a nonprofit organization called Better Days Mentoring. The players took the children out on a shopping spree at a local Dick's Sporting Goods store. Each was given $300 and let loose.
"Well, just want to say thank you guys for coming out," Love could be heard saying. "Thank you to Dick's for helping us out with this. I think it's gonna be a pretty cool experience for you guys, your shop with me, my teammates here, brought a bunch of Packer players out."
They bought various sports goodies for themselves such as Packers jerseys and shoes. Along with Jordan Love, there were his teammates Jacob Monk, Sean Clifford, Brandon McManus, Chris Brooks, Alex McGough and Rasheed Walker.
Jordan Love's upcoming charity event to take place in May
The next major charity event is the softball game which will be hosted by Love's foundation. The game will play out at the Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium. This year's event, on May 23, will be more special considering that it's the silver jubilee of the event.
One of the teams playing in the event, the Timber Rattlers, said the charity game will help generate money for Jordan Love's foundation, which will then be directed towards helping more children play sports while also putting the spotlight on mental health, suicide prevention and law enforcement issues prevalent in the community.
"I am excited to host the Green Bay Charity Softball Game for its 25th Anniversary,” Love said. “I had a blast last year hosting the game and on May 23rd we are going to take the game to another level for Friday Night Lights! Thank you for supporting the community and Hands of 10ve Foundation!"
Besides off-field activities, Jordan Love is also crushing it on the gridiron with his Packers sitting at 9-4. Unfortunately for them, despite such a great record, they're in the same division as the Detroit Lions and the Minnesota Vikings, who have better records. Thus, the Packers are less likely to make it to the playoffs this year.
