WATCH: Kyler Murray has hilarious NFSW reaction to playing in cold weather ahead of Panthers-Cardinals game
In Week 16, Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals will travel over 2,500 miles East across the country to take on the Carolina Panthers at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. The visitors are heavy favorites to win the game but the weather could play a factor in deciding the outcome.
The temperature is expected to drop to 35° F, which could hinder the Cardinals, who are used to playing in warm Arizona weather. On Wednesday, quarterback Kyler Murray was asked about whether the chilly weather is a cause for concern for him and his team. He responded:
"No. I mean, I have played in cold weather before."
After feigning confidence, he asked how low the temperature would be in Charlotte on Sunday. When a reporter answered that the weather forecast said it could drop to 35° F, he had a two-word response. Murray said:
"Yeah... S**t."
Cardinals playoff odds: Kyler Murray and Co. face a must-win situation
The entire press room, including Kyler Murray, chuckled after the quarterback's hilarious reaction to the weather forecast. However, the uphill battle that the Cardinals face to make the playoffs is no laughing matter.
Arizona is 7-7 and trails the Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks in the race for the NFC West title. Both teams are 8-6 and hold the tiebreaker over the Cardinals.
They have to win their last three to stand a chance of earning a playoff berth. Even that likely wouldn't be enough, as they'd need the Seahawks and Rams to lose two games each to win the division title outright.
Kyler Murray says the Cardinals know what their situation is as they take on the Panthers.
"Our backs are against the wall. We understand that. ... We understand what's at stake and we understand it's each week for us. So we gotta go play our best on the road," Murray said.
While their odds of making the playoffs hinge on other teams doing them favors, Arizona will focus on what they can control. They will have to deal with the cold weather and find a way to win because they cannot afford a defeat against the Panthers in Charlotte on Sunday.
