WATCH: Patrick Mahomes channels his inner Tom Brady at Chiefs Super Bowl parade, almost falls off party bus chugging beer
The Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade is underway, and they are most certainly enjoying themselves.
After a long, hard-fought season, it's completely acceptable for Chiefs players to let go after winning the Super Bowl. The parade always provides great moments, from Jason Kelce's speech after Super Bowl LII to Tom Brady being completely drunk after winning it with Tampa Bay.
We have a new contender for the drunkest superstar in a Super Bowl parade. Just look at Patrick Mahomes in this video:
The quarterback evaded a freak accident when he chugged a beer from the crowd. Luckily, someone was close and held him.
In the same Chiefs parade, head coach Andy Reid - who has now confirmed that he's not going to retire from the NFL - also praised the fans in Kansas City:
"I'll tell you what, there's some great cities in America but there's no place you'd rather be and no greater place to be than right here, baby."
Patrick Mahomes emulated Tom Brady in Chiefs Super Bowl parade
Quarterbacks being drunk after winning the title is nothing new. Just ask Tom Brady.
After moving to Tampa Bay and winning the Super Bowl in his first season with the Buccaneers, Brady was really drunk during their parade. After one too many, the quarterback literally threw the Lombardi Trophy from a boat. It was luckily caught by tight end Cameron Brate.
He apologized for the same a few days later in an interview with former New York Giants defensive end Michael Strahan:
"First of all, there was not a lot going through my mind at that point. I mean, that was not smart for a couple of reasons. One is, if we drop it, that's a little bit of a problem. But the worst thing that could happen is the edges on that trophy are so sharp - and had those things clipped one of my boys in the other boat, it would have been an ugly, ugly parade."
And we shall not forget that he literally had to be carried around.
