WATCH: Police body camera video shows former NFL player being arrested on luggage theft charges
Former NFL player Damian Parms once played for one of the premier leagues in the world of sports. Now, it seems the former defensive back is on the defensive off the field after he was arrested for stealing luggage at an airport. According to FOX 5, police say he was charged with crimes committed at Hartsfield Jackson Airport.
The news program also obtained body cam footage of the arrest that occurred over Thanksgiving weekend, which was congested with the rest of the report. Although only seconds of the arrest are shown, the conversation leading to the arrest is haunting. The defensive back alleged that the bag looked just like his, but the police didn't buy it.
He was caught allegedly taking the briefcase to another area, taking a phone charger, and returning the luggage to the luggage pickup area. He then left the facility. Two and a half hours later, he was questioned by investigators. He is seen being asked if he flew, which he said he did not.
Who did former NFL player Damian Parms play for during his career?
According to Pro Football Reference, the former NFL defensive back played safety for a number of teams. However, he was never good enough to record a stat in a regular season game. The defensive back was listed in 18 transactions going back to 2015.
During his time in the league, he bounced on and off multiple NFL practice squads. He saw stints with the Atlanta Falcons during the Matt Ryan era, Buffalo Bills during their era of struggle, and the Carolina Panthers near the end of the Cam Newton era.
After 12 transactions with the Panthers from July 30, 2017, to November 6, 2019, his final day in the league dawned on him. Since 2019, his past is relatively unknown, but one could speculate that at least some of that time was spent waiting for a call that never came.
