WATCH: Reese Witherspoon had close to no response over Donald Trump's 2017 NFL comments
Donald Trump is getting pelted with questions by Americans both inside and outside the government right now, as the former president faces 34 felony charges for falsifying records.
However, back in 2017, Trump was the one firing volleys. According to USA Today, in response to the infamous kneeling and protests by players during the national anthem, Trump urged owners to put offenders on the street:
"Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, 'Get that son of a b---- off the field right now. Out. He's fired. He's fired!"
The comments caused cheers and uproar from both sides of the issue. As such, the media wanted as much reaction as possible from across the country, including actress Reese Witherspoon. However, she wasn't touching the issue with a ten-foot pole based on a clip put on YouTube around that time.
In the clip posted by X17onlineVideo, Witherspoon was ambushed by a paparazzi member in a parking lot as she went to get in her vehicle. It was clear she didn't want to be disturbed, based on the sunglasses and dark cap she wore.

Standing just feet away from her, the cameraman asked for a comment on the situation between Trump and the league. She didn't say a word as she got in her vehicle and proceeded to leave.

Fast forward to 2023 and the actress has once again found herself in the NFL's crosshairs. Nothing is concrete, but rumors allege that the former quarterback and the actress have been seeing each other. Tom Brady is coming off a mid-season divorce from Gisele Bundchen and the actress is coming off her own breakup with Jim Toth.

Until concrete evidence is presented, fans of both the actress and the quarterback are stuck speculating. At the same time, with the quarterback already appearing in one movie this year, one could easily also arrive at the conclusion that, if they were meeting secretly, it could be in connection to an unannounced movie.
However, this would be pure speculation on the same wavelength of assuming that the two are dating. At this point, one can only guess.
