WATCH: Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's intimate kiss goes viral during Chiefs AFC championship trophy presentation
Travis Kelce will want to mark Jan. 28, 2024, as a special day in his life.
On Sunday, his Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Baltimore Ravens 17-10 to secure their second straight Super Bowl appearance. And the tight end played a major role in that game, catching 11 passes for 116 yards and a touchdown. In the process, he surpassed the legendary Jerry Rice for most playoff receptions (156) and tied him for most playoff games with at least 100 receiving yards (10).
But his in-game performance was not the only thing going for him.
Kelce's girlfriend, pop star Taylor Swift, was in attendance; and she took to the field during the trophy presentation. The two then kissed onstage to the delight of the members of the Kingdom who had traveled hundreds of miles eastward to enter M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore.
That may be the last game Swift attends for now, as her Eras Tour is set to resume during Super Bowl week.
Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes shut down critics with another AFC championship title
The Travis Kelce era is still going strong, and with it the Kansas City Chiefs dynasty.
During the trophy presentation, he invoked the Beastie Boys (a boy band) in a message to the pessimists who had claimed that offensive woes would haunt them come playoff time:
'The Chiefs are still the Chiefs, and believe it. You gotta fight, for your right, to party! Believe it, baby, we going to Las Vegas, Nevada to go get us another one!'
He also embraced his elder brother Jason (who has purportedly retired from the Philadelphia Eagles) during the proceedings.
Meanwhile, Patrick Mahomes, Kelceās main passer, dismissed the notion that the Chiefs had been underdogs throughout the postseason:
'We've been underdogs for the last few games, but we never feel like underdogs. We got a lot of guys on this team that know how to win, and when playoffs came around I knew we were gonna make it happen.'
Next for them will be either the San Francisco 49ers or Detroit Lions. As of this writing, the latter are leading 14-0 thanks to two touchdown rushes by Jameson Williams and David Montgomery. If they win, Super Bowl LVIII will be a rematch of the Kickoff Game, which the Lions won 21-20 thanks to dropped passes by the likes of Kadarius Toney.
